Must-Know Windows Shortcuts for Digital Creators

As a digital creator, it is essential to utilize Windows shortcuts to boost productivity effectively.

Here are the essential keyboard shortcuts for Microsoft Windows that I use all the time.

  • Quick Access/Explorer: Win + E
  • Task View: Win + Tab
  • Switch between Windows: Alt + Tab
  • Sleep: Win + X > U > S
  • Shutdown: Win + X > U > U

Screenshot Bar: Win + Shift + S

I always screenshot a selected area.

  1. From the toolbar, choose Rectangular snip.
  2. Drag around the area you want to capture.
  3. In the notification window, click the screenshot image.
  4. Snipping Tool will start and load the screenshot.
  5. Edit and save.

The screenshots will be copied to the clipboard. You can also use other image editing software, such as Paint.

Game Bar: Win + G

From this toolbar, I use only video capture. Click the Start Recording button (Win + Alt + R). It will capture the active window. For high-quality and high-performance screen recording, I use Bandicam.
